Windows Hardware - Installing a Clover Certificate

In order to use a Clover terminal with Nōwn on a windows device - you must install a Clover Security Certificate. Without this security certificate the Clover terminal will not work. 

Step 1: Open Google Chrome on the device that you will be using Nōwn on.

Step 2: Copy and paste the URL in the browser: https://www.clover.com/v2/env_device_ca_certificate.crt

Step 3A file will download, if your device asks for any permissions or to confirm that the file is safe, please do that.

Step 4: Open Google Chrome again.

Step 5Click on three dot icon on the right hand side. A menu will then pop up, click on Settings. 

Step 6: Scroll down then click Advanced Settings at the bottom of the page. 

Step 7: Under the section titled Privacy and Security, select Manage Certificates. (If you don't see this under Advanced, it may be on the left side of the screen).

Step 8: A new window will pop up, once that happens select the on Trusted Root Certification Authorities tab. Once there, click on Import.

Step 9: Follow the instructions of the wizard and upload the certificate you downloaded in Step 2 (it is what was downloaded onto your desktop or under Chrome downloads). Ensure that the certificate is placed into the Trusted Root Certification Authorities store (see below). 

Click yes to all warnings.

Step 10: Close Nōwn and close Google Chrome. Once you open Nōwn again the security certificate will take effect.
